UV’s new HRM laboratory

-

In its aim to prepare its students to be globally competitive, the University of the Visayas and the Institute of Hospitality and Culinary  invested on a new laboratory for UV’s Hotel and Restaurant Management students.

Located at the third floor of the Don Vicente Gullas building, the UV-MIHCA International Training Center is a world class training and assessment center. It boasts of a hotel-like environment, with its concierge, front office, suite and standard rooms, function room, restaurant and state-of-the-art kitchen.

“The university wants its students to be globally competitive so it invested on this state-of-the-art laboratory with world class features,” said HRM Dean Rosemarie Español.

She said the front office makes use of the Fidelio Computer System and the kitchen has equipment imported from Germany and Italy.

The training center also has an executive suite, a standard room, a cabin room, a function room that can accommodate 200 people and a restaurant and bar that can accommodate up to 70 people.

Aside from its tie-up with the Magsaysay of Hospitality and Culinary, the university has also established links with POEC Consultancy International and Canada-based Strategic Project Management Limited to better equip its students with the skills needed to be globally competitive.  (QSB)
