‘Senior High’ sheds light on sexual identity awareness

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  After going viral for their kissing scene in the Kapamilya teleserye “Senior High,” the endearing boys’ love pairing of Zaijian Jaranilla and Miggy Jimenez, more fondly called TimPoch, shared that they are grateful for the positive feedback from viewers.

The young Kapamilya actors expressed how the blossoming love story of Tim (Zaijian) and Poch (Miggy) is able to bring positive awareness to viewers when it comes to developing feelings for someone of the same sex.

“Sobrang nakakataba ng puso dahil nagustuhan at minahal siya ng mga tao. Pag magkaka-eksena kami, nagtatanungan kami kung hanggang saan lang ba pwede. Importante ‘yung communication namin dahil hindi basta-basta ‘yung scenes na ginagawa namin,” shared Zaijian.

Zaijian also credited his directors for helping him bring life to Tim as viewers are able to relate to his character who is struggling to come to terms with his sexual identity.

Miggy shared the same sentiments and added that his sweet moments with Zaijian’s character reflected on-cam very naturally.

“Sobrang overwhelming but at the same time ayokong ipasok sa head ko. Ayokong sirain ‘yung chemistry na meron kami. We didn’t even plan it at all kaya gusto ko siyang i-treasure. I have to be grateful,” he said.

Zaijian and Miggy’s unexpected love team in “Senior High” became a hot topic on social media recently as netizens praised the oozing chemistry and relatability of their characters in shedding light about accepting one’s sexual identity.

More shocking revelations are in store in “Senior High”, airing weeknights at 9:30 pm on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, TV5, iWantTFC, and TFC.
