Yves Flores’ savior in showbiz

CEBU, Philippines — Yves Flores, 25, will forever feel indebted to a showbiz friend who refuses to be named for helping him save the life of his dad during a health crisis in 2015. The 2012 “PBB: Teen Edition” housemate narrated how he was in the middle of shooting for the ABS-CBN series “Be My Lady” when he received a call from his mother who was inconsolable on the other line.
“Yung dad ko 50/50, nasa hospital. Nagpaalam ako sa director kung pwede umuwi saglit. That time ang laki ng bill ko sa hospital. P50,000-P80,000 per day. Kung hindi ako magbabayad, hindi siya tuturukan ng gamot,” shared the actor, who is back on the small screen via “Bagong Umaga” after a memorable role in “A Soldier’s Heart.”
After two months in the hospital, Yves’ funds were drained and his dues were piling up. “May friend ako sa showbiz, hindi ko na papangalanan, at hindi niya rin sinabi siya nagpadala ng pera pangtulong. Of course, kung wala yung ABS-CBN and that friend of mine, and other friends that helped, hindi ko masasalba yung dad ko.” –VAB
