Comedy King Dolphy rules over Jeepney TV

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Join the laugh fest as Jeepney TV commemorates the legacy of the undisputed Comedy King via “Salamat, Dolphy,” headlined with the restored version premiere of the hilarious “John en Marsha Sa Probinsya” this July.

John Puruntong is back, along with his beloved Marsha and the rest of his riotous family, in “John en Marsha Sa Probinsya.” The uproarious pack heads to the hinterlands for an extended stay to take care of a sick aunt. But when an industrial plant opens up causing terrible pollution, John and his family lead the townsfolk in making a complaint against the plant owner. Can the fish-out-of-water family overcome the culture shock of rural life without killing one another and save the town?

Embrace beloved characters such as Aling Azon, Richy, Bill, Bob, Bing, Baldo, and Estong while revisiting Mang Kevin Kosme’s humble abode in “Home Along Da Riles Da Movie,” as it also airs this July as part of “Salamat, Dolphy.”

More of the Comedy King comes your way in entertainment talk show “Showbiz Pa More,” hosted by DJ JaiHo. Sundays on Jeepney TV are about to get more intriguing as the show also welcomes Jay-R (July 22) and Robi Domingo (July 29) for fun, exclusive interviews at 4 p.m.

Catch “Home Along Da Riles Da Movie” today and the premiere of “John en Marsha Sa Probinsiya” on July 28, 1 p.m. The TV series “Home Along Da Riles” also airs on Sundays at 5 p.m.

The digitally restored and remastered film “John en Marsha Sa Probinsya” will also have a special screening at Cinema Centenario and Black Maria on July 26 and 27, an initiative of Jeepney TV and ABS-CBN Film Restoration.

Jeepney TV is available on SKYcable channel 9, Destiny Cable Analog 41 and Digital 9.
