Panday 2 expected to smash box office records

CEBU, Philippines - With a bigger and bolder sequel to smash all box-office records, Panday 2 is on course to surpass its phenomenal blockbuster success in the Metro Manila Film Festival history as it opens in theaters on Christmas Day.

This high-budgeted movie promises to bring an extraordinary cinematic experience to the whole family with many high-flying sequences mounted with grandeur, and equally presented with outstanding cinematography and musical score.

Directed by Mac C. Alejandre, Panday 2 is expected to give extra thrill and excitement to moviegoers as Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr. returns to reprise the role of Flavio/Panday, one of the most popular and enduring comic characters created by National Artist Carlo J. Caparas.

Playing Senator Bong’s leading ladies are two of Kapuso Network’s ravishing actresses: Marian Rivera as Arlana/Bagwis and Iza Calzado as Maria Makiling.

Joining the casting coup is the all-star roster of cast headlined by Phillip Salvador as Lizardo, Mr. Eddie Garcia as Daluyong, Benjie Paras as Alulod, Rhian Ramos as Emelita, Alden Richards as Gubli, Kris Bernal as Alira, Buboy Villar as Bugoy, Yogo Singh as Kiroy, Isabel Frial as Gelay, Mr. Joonee Gamboa as Lolo Isko and Tween stars Barbie Forteza, Joshua Dionisio, Jake Vargas and Bea Binene.

Making the film even grander are the special participations of three of the country’s fairest actresses as they join forces to add star power to GMA Films and Imus Productions official entry to the 2011 MMFF Festival - Alice Dixson, Lucy Torres and Lorna Tolentino.
