Real-Life Telenovela Starring Kris Aquino

SHOWBIZ DRIBBLE - Salve V. Asis -

Kris Aquino apologized to Cebuanos for skipping a gift-giving event in Cebu last week. Boy Abunda filled in for her. Kris explained that she couldn’t make it because she was still coping with her personal crisis.

In a statement read for her by Boy on SNN last week, Kris made mention of her “state of

my marriage. I would like to say that where I am now is a result of many months of fortitude, and in the last couple of months, careful thought. My sole priority is the well being of my sons, Josh and Bimby.”

Almost everyone knows by now that Kris’ marriage with basketball star James Yap is once again on shaky ground after a recent “big misunderstanding.” In fact, she has packed up and left their house, bringing her kids with her.

I distinctly remember the actress/TV host promising to zip her lips and keep her problems to herself for the sake of her brother, president-elect Noynoy. But it’s not like Kris to simply clam up; she has to keep the world updated on what’s happening to her.

I get the feeling we’re all watching a real-life telenovela starring Kris Aquino.

Even the people around her are being swept into the controversy. The buzz is that Boy Abunda has begun to distance himself from James.

AiAi delas Alas, however, has learned her lesson and decided not to meddle in the spat between Kris and James. AiAi had gotten in hot water with James after she sided with Kris during the couple’s rough episode over Hope Centeno. This time the Comedy Diva was more careful. “It’s a problem between husband and wife, so we should let them settle it between themselves,” she said.

The question now is, will James be joining Kris and the rest of the Aquino family at the inauguration of Noynoy this Wednesday? Tune in.

After playing the denial game for so long, John Lloyd Cruz has finally admitted that he and Shaina Magdayao are on. Lloydie made the admission on The Buzz, where he also confessed that he had a “very special relationship” with Ruffa Gutierrez, but refused to explain exactly what that means.

John Lloyd firmly denied that he was the reason Shaina and John Prats broke up. In fact, he had a “man to man” talk with John to clear the air. “That was the time when (Shaina) was being put in a bad light. That’s not fair.”

John Lloyd also said he did not have simultaneous relationships with Shaina and Ruffa.

In another revelation, the box-office king also said he never led Sarah Geronimo on and promised to marry her in five years. “You don’t make that promise to a woman. You never know what the future holds.”

Willie Revillame seems to be taunting ABS-CBN by guesting in a show in another network. The former Wowowee host made a “surprise” appearance in a taped segment of Party On 5 that showcased the birthday of John Estrada, singing two songs and handing out cash to the audience. Alerted about Willie’s appearance, the management of ABS-CBN wrote Channel 5, warning that he was banned by his contract from channel-hopping. Channel 5 wisely did not air the segment.

Charice has revealed that she will be appearing in the new season of the hit musical TV series Glee. The news had earlier circulated on the internet, but Charice had been quick to deny it.

It turned out that she was just playing it safe. She had auditioned for Glee but at the time was not sure that she was in.

Charice would also be one of 25 international music artists performing in Bill board.com’s tribute video for the Michael Jackson on the first anniversary of the King of Pop’s death last June 25.
