SAKDAP Performs At The Northwing For "Cebu, Cebu"

-

CEBU, Philippines - SM City Cebu presents another afternoon of Cebuano music, and this time, featuring the Cebuano singing group sensation Sakdap. The group consists of members Gani Villarojo, Henry Jabonero, Irving Guanzon, and Josil Mariño. They will sing your favorite Cebuano songs on January 24, 2010 at The Northwing Atrium of SM City Cebu at 6pm.

Sakdap was formed sometime in 1980 during the height of the 9th Cebu Pop Music Festival. During that time, composer Mel Baclay was scouring for a group that will sing his composition “Agila”. Gani Villarojo was one of the first persons whom Mel Baclay sought out to form a group.

On 1999, the group Sakdap performed with the University of San Jose-Recoletos in the United States. Sakdap’s version of “Paradista” written by Edwin Umapas was heavily played in the airwaves in the 90’s. The group also made versions of novelty songs such as “Unang Pagtan-aw Kog Sine” and “Si Felimon”.

Watch the exhibits at the Northwing Atrium which include the jewelry designs and collections of Annie Chen - Asia’s dazzling jewelers, furniture designed by internationally acclaimed furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue, the exclusive paintings of portraitist Romulo Galicano, photos from the book Cebu, Pride of Place by master photographer E.Billy Mondoñedo, the collections of fashion czar Philip Rodriguez, which include colorful designs for the Search for the Sinulog Festival, and the food display of Raki Urbina, executive chef of Cafe Laguna.
