MANILA, Philippines — Approximately 50 years ago, Aisin-Warner (AW) spun off from its mother company, Aisin Seiki Co. Limited to develop automatic transmission, given the current technology then.  

In April this year, automotive parts manufacturing giant Aisin Seiki has absorbed its subsidiary Aisin AW back into the fold to establish Aisin Corporation.

Former President and current Vice-chairman Kiyotaka Ise considers it almost certain that conventional automatic transmissions will become unnecessary in the future. This, he believes, is due to the acceleration of vehicle electrification toward the achievement of carbon neutrality. It thus became impractical to keep the business entities separated.

The merger aims to eliminate duplication of business activities conducted by the two companies, thereby enhancing efficiency. More importantly, it is expected that human resources fostered in different environments will blend together to create new value.

Beacon of inspiration and direction

Aisin Corporation’s corporate logo was designed to symbolize the company philosophy “Inspiring movement, creating tomorrow.”

The large, rounded top of the typeface represents unity and togetherness while the design evokes the concept of all AISIN Group companies working together in unity to achieve even more ambitious goals.

The gently rounded lettering reflects the company goal: happiness and beauty for the future earth. The italic text and streamlined accents represent the energy and drive of the employees as they achieve their dreams and aspirations to create a brighter tomorrow.

The Aisin logo represents the company it strives to be, its hopes and ideals, as well as its determination to achieve its goals.

Consequently, Aisin aftermarket product packaging design also took on a new appearance in recognition of the recent merger.

It sports a pointed triangle to represent the Aisin Group as a top corporate entity. The partially hidden triple As behind it symbolizes the common initials of the three subsidiaries: Aisin Corp., ADVICS (Advanced Intelligent Brake Systems) and ART (ART Metal Manufacturing Company Limited).

Future within reach

The brand slogan “We Touch the Future” represents the essence of the company’s ideals and determination to continue formulating new ideas and initiatives that adhere to the company philosophy “Inspiring movement, creating tomorrow.”

“We” refers to the entire AISIN Group, brought together by each employee’s dreams and aspirations to create a safe and comfortable future for everyone.

“Touch” indicates the company’s intention to always aspire beauty for our future earth, its determination to touch the future and change it through positive action.
