CEBU, Philippines —  From building residential, office, hospitality and integrated development projects, AppleOne Properties Inc., (API) ventures into the healthcare sector.

“We have recently ventured into the health sector through the acquisition of one existing hospital with a second and third, underway. This proves to be a timely move as Covid-19 hit us shortly after the acquisition,” said API president and chief executive officer (CEO) Ray Go Manigsaca.

“With the great challenge brought about by the pandemic is this great opportunity for AppleOne to move forward bigger, brighter, and in greater service to its people and communities,” Manigsaca added.

Amid the threat of pandemic, Manigsaca, whose company developed the luxurious Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort and Residences, believes that the best innovations are borne out of crisis.

“This has always been true for my wife, Venus, and I such as in the 1997 financial crisis, the challenge of which paved the way for the birth and growth of the AppleOne that you see today. The pandemic has caused the landscape to shift continuously and greatly and we are taking a dynamic approach to the shift by making necessary changes as the shifts come. What has been first and foremost in our crisis management is a focus on efficiency and maintaining liquidity. This focus applies to both our businesses and the soul of our businesses, our people,” Manigsaca added.

API is the developer of the first mixed use development in the region’s premier business district, AppleOne Equicom Tower in the Cebu Business Park, as well as the first gated condominium in the region, AppleOne Banawa Height.

Its subsidiary AppleOne Mactan, Inc. is the developer of the forthcoming five-star Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort and the first Sheraton-branded residence in Southeast Asia, The Residences at Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort, and the integrated complex development at the Mactan Export Zone (MEZ I) called “Mahi.”
