MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Seven Corp. (PSC) will focus on opening new stores in Visayas and Mindanao, as part of its nationwide expansion goal to hit 5,000 locations.

PSC chairman Victor Paterno said PSC, the exclusive franchisee of convenience store giant 7-Eleven in the country, has been opening more stores within areas in Visayas and Mindanao due to “stronger sales.”

“Our expansion has been biased since the end of COVID towards VisMin,”Paterno told reporters.

He added that PSC would continue opening stores in Luzon, though he emphasized the region faces tougher competition among 7?Eleven rivals.

“Of course, we’re opening stores in Luzon and so on, but there’s also kind of been a land grab to get there before your competitors,” Paterno said.

PSC is targeting to expand to about 500 new locations nationwide for 2026, which will enable the company to open its 5,000th store by the end of the year.

The company opened 422 new store locations in 2026, as part of its effort to expand outside of the Metro Manila area.

PSC president and CEO Richard Lee said the company remains “on track” to hit its store expansion goals by the end of the year.

“We try to open a store anywhere because our market is really big. But once we open a store, we consider logistics so that we can serve that area so they can serve the product to our customers,” he added.
