Globe Broadband hailed anew by Frost & Sullivan

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Globe Broadband is once again recognized as the 2012 Broadband Service Provider of the Year by the global business research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan.

This is a back-to-back achievement for Globe Broadband after also receiving the recognition last year.

“We are very honored to receive this award once more as the Philippines’ Broadband Service Provider of the Year coming from a highly respected global firm such as Frost & Sullivan. This award validates that we are on track in providing the best broadband service for our subscribers,” said Nikko Acosta, head of Globe Broadband.

Broadband revenues were up 13 percent year-on-year to P4.1 billion with the continued demand for Tattoo-On-The-Go offerings which comprise the bulk of the company’s quarterly acquisitions.

This led to the overall growth in Globe Broadband subscriber base to nearly 1.6 million by June 30, higher by 22 percent from almost 1.3 million subscribers in the same period last year.

From 2007 to 2011, the Globe Broadband service has grown by an average of 99 percent per year in subscriber base and 84 percent per year in service revenues.

For the first half of the year, Globe Broadband posted a 22 percent growth in subscriber base compared to the same period last year and 13 percent year-on-year revenue growth.

“Globe Broadband performed exceedingly well in 2011, outperforming the market average. Besides offering an attractive price proposition, Globe Broadband differentiates itself by marketing its range of broadband plans under a refreshing and innovative ‘Tattoo’ brand name that relates to consumers’ need for a modern and individualistic lifestyle. Its pricing strategy

Globe Broadband, branded as Tattoo, offers both Tattoo On-the-Go for mobile internet users and Tattoo@Home for fixed broadband services with customizable speeds and with exclusive privileges.

Last September, Globe Broadband also launched Tattoo Black, the premium broadband stick powered by Globe 4G (Long Term Evolution) and described as the future of broadband technology with the fastest speed and unparalleled customer service.

This was followed by the launch of Tattoo Torque, which provides the ultimate experience in at-home broadband connection.

“Tattoo Broadband continues to innovate the brand, going beyond what is expected of a usual broadband service, to fully satisfy all the needs of our subscribers. Through the years, Tattoo has been the most preferred broadband service provided with superior performance in speed, value-for-money offers and reliability. And as Globe embarks on our $700-million network modernization program, our Globe broadband subscribers could expect the best internet experience once everything has been completed,” Acosta adds.

Included in the $700-million network modernization program of Globe is a wider coverage of 3G and 4G services, a ten-fold increase in data capacity, and the rollout of an additional 12,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables to enhance internet speeds and service reliability.

With the continued rollout of the 4G network via HSPA+, Globe was able to boost the speed performance of its key broadband products spurring further growth in subscriber base and service revenues.” he adds.

The Frost & Sullivan Awards are presented each year to the companies and brands which exhibit excellence in subscriber growth and revenues.
