La Consolacion College Manila launches Yapster e-Learning courses

-
La Consolacion College of Manila (LCCM) formally launched its upcoming curriculum, which includes Yapster e-Learning courses, with a colorful and meaningful program at the LCCM gymnasium recently.

The hour-long program featured production numbers from various school organizations, a live demo presentation by Bill Spindloe, chief operating officer of Yapster e-Learning Inc., messages from school officials, and a video message from Manila Mayor Lito Atienza.

Students, faculty members and guests from the city government, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) graced the affair, which was immediately followed by cocktails.

The highlight of the launch was the stage play featuring Taong-Yungib, the official mascot of LCCM’s e-Learning curriculum. The play introduced the concept of e-learning and was in itself a representation of the school’s drive of "Re-inventing the Education for the Future."

In his brief speech, Dr. Ronald Pastrana, LCCM vice president for academic affairs, emphasized the significance of the e-Learning courses, saying that they will "greatly enrich the learning experience of our students, making the school one of the pioneers in implementing e-Learning, and more importantly bringing us at par with world standards."

Mayor Lito Atienza, meanwhile, took the opportunity to thank the school officials and congratulate them for this endeavor, adding, "The move will greatly benefit the Filipino students and would hopefully start a movement toward world-class education."

LCCM, founded in 1902, is crossing the threshold of the 21st century by committing itself as a learning community and a Catholic institution of higher learning.

In line with this, LCCM’s curriculum and instructional programs have been reengineered to meet world-class standards, through partnerships with foreign educational institutions and leading IT providers. It is for this reason that the school decided to partner with Yapster e-Learning Inc. to provide its students with online training and instruction.

Sr. Imelda Mora, OSA, president of LCCM, sealed an agreement to provide Yapster e-Learning IT and business courses to 4,200 LCCM users by academic year 2003 to enhance the school’s instructional capability and complement its academic curriculum.

Yapster e-Learning is a premier provider of online IT and business courses with a library of 1,500 courses. It is a member of Yapster e-Conglomerate Inc.
