APDC 2011 to feature 35 foreign speakers

-

MANILA, Philippines - With the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) as host, the 33rd Asia-Pacific Dental Congress (APDC) set on May 1-6 at the Philippine International Convention Center will feature 35 foreign speakers.

The speakers from the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, Australia and the Middle East will tackle the latest updates and trends in the different specialty fields of dentistry under the theme “Advancing the Pinnacles of Dental Health Care.”

Heading the list of distinguished speakers are textbook author and sought-after lecturer Professor Jeffrey Okeson from the University of Kentucky who will conduct a limited-attendance, pre-congress course on the clinical management of temporomandibular disorders on May 1.

There will also be two specialists from New York University: Dr. Farhad Vahidi, a prosthodontist, who will discuss what dentists need to know about ceramic restorations on May 2; and Dr. Kambiz Mohajer who will review the current techniques of plastic surgery in periodontics.

Dr. Jocelyn Tan, who is putting together the congress’ scientific program, said this is one congress Filipino dentists should not miss.

Congress chairman Dr. Hermogenes Villareal said at least 200 trade exhibition booths will feature dental products aside from numerous scientific poster board presentations.

For more information, contact Lita Ang-de Jesus of the congress secretariat at 809-9229.
