Developing leadership potential in children

-

MANILA, Philippines - Instilling leadership values of courage, integrity, independence, creativity, confidence and responsibility at an early age is possible.

According to Dr. Stephen Covey, founder of the “The Leader in Me Program,” raising leaders needs parental involvement, effective learning tools, integration of leadership modules in the school curriculum, and a regular follow-through both in school and at home.

This concept was a proven success when the Center for Leadership and Change Inc. (CLCI) and Mylac XL Prep recently implemented Stephen Covey’s “The Leader in Me” program at the Miriam College Child Study Center.

Trixie Marie Sison, principal of the Miriam College Child Study Center, said the program helped children gain leadership skills and confidence to face future challenges.

She also said the program gave teachers adequate skills to integrate the program habits in their present curriculum.

She also observed that when the program was implemented, children are now more motivated to learn.

Sison also found out that children are now more focused and teachers find it easier teaching values without being too preachy.

Furthermore, Sison stressed that parental support and proper nourishment are also key factors in developing a child’s leadership potential since parent motivation and proper nutrition plays an important role in every child’s growth and brain development.

Mylac XL Prep preschool milk, an advocate of leadership, can help parents support the daily nutritional needs and nourishment of their growing children.

It has the XL Formula, a combination of DHA and brain stimulants like taurine, choline, iron and iodine.

Mylac XL Prep is available in leading supermarkets and drugstores nationwide and also comes in milk and chocolate flavor that every child will surely love.
