Business As Usual

‘The way forward’

- The Philippine Star

A high-level discussion jointly organized by The Asset, a leading Hong Kong-based international financial magazine, and the Financial Executives of the Philippines (FINEX) brought together key members of the financial and corporate markets— major investors, issuers, industry regulators, and representatives of financial institutions—in the Philippines at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La hotel. The Philippine Financial Market Forum had for its theme “The Way Forward: Building Opportunities” and featured Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando Tetangco and Ernst & Young managing partner and head of Global Financial Services Practice Keith Pogson as keynote speakers. Needless to say, a spirited and insightful debate ensued which was enjoyed by all!

A prestigious SKAL award for Boracay Regency

Continually achieving accolades from different organizations is Boracay Regency Beach Resort, as it stands as the symbol of excellence in the paradise island of Boracay. Just recently, Henann Resorts Group chairman Henry Chusuey received the esteemed SKAL Award for the Resort Category during the 22nd SKAL Tourism Personality Awards in celebration of the 31st anniversary celebration of SKAL International Makati. Congratulations, Henry and team, for this achievement!

The lawyer is also a ‘specialist’

After a stint in government, lawyer Alberto “Al” Agra is now a certified public-private partnerships (PPP) and regulation specialist. Al is the only one in Asia to have two specialist certifications from the Institute for PPP (IP3) based in Virginia, USA. As a PPP practitioner, Al developed a PPP code for local governments which has served as a reference for the local governments of Cavite, Camarines Sur, Northern Samar, Nueva Ecija and Pangasinan, and the cities of Olongapo and Butuan. The former acting Justice secretary

recently published a book “Proposed PPP Code for LocalGovernments: Annotated,” with a foreword by the late Interior and Local Government secretary Jesse Robredo. Al is also the president of the Chow Chow Club of the Philippines. This man has no time for idleness!
