Vlogger Marcos arrested for cyberlibel

MANILA, Philippines — Self-proclaimed trillionaire and vlogger Francis Leo Marcos, whose real name is Norman Mangusin, remains in police custody following his arrest for cyberlibel on Monday in Parañaque.
Col. Allen Rae Co, spokesman for the Philippine National Police, said Mangusin, 47, has yet to post bail of P90,000 for the three counts of cyberlibel filed against him.
Mangusin was inside a casino along New Seaside Drive in Barangay Tambo when he was apprehended by the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
Mangusin’s arrest was based on a warrant issued by the Parañaque Regional Trial Court Branch 294 for three counts of libel in relation to Republic Act 10175, the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
The cases were filed by Joana Lopez, the wife of Mangusin’s nemesis, vlogger Mark Jayson Warnakulahewa.
Mangusin was detained at the CIDG’s Detection and Special Operations Unit at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
Mangusin requested not to be handcuffed, but Co said police rejected it.
In February, Mangusin was nabbed for 12 counts of unjust vexation in relation to the Cybercrime Law.
