DigiPlus gearing up for 2027 launch of South Africa venture

MANILA, Philippines — DigiPlus Interactive Corp. is gearing up for its second international venture, targeting the launch of its gaming operations in South Africa by next year.
DigiPlus president Andy Tsui said it would usually take nine to 12 months for the company to start launching the platform in South Africa, similar to the process of its venture in Brazil.
“We expect that the launch for South Africa will be sometime, maybe in the second or third quarter of 2027,” Tsui said.
DigiPlus, the listed digital entertainment provider behind BingoPlus, ArenaPlus and GameZone, received licenses to operate from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB) in South Africa last month.
WCGRB approved DigiPlus’ application for three operator licenses: a national manufacturer license, a bookmaker license and a bookmaker premises license.
DigiPlus said the WCGRB has jurisdiction over the Western Cape, the largest online gaming market in South Africa, which accounted for approximately 31 percent of national online gaming revenues in 2025.
The company intends to leverage its experience in building its presence in Brazil to jumpstart its operations in South Africa.
Tsui said the company’s Brazil operation is set for relaunch before the end of the second quarter.
DigiPlus in October last year announced a strategic pause on its first Brazilian brand, GamePlus, following the soft launch on Sept. 22, 2025.
The temporary pause was seen as a strategic step for the company to return with a stronger digital entertainment offering.
“We’re in the final stage of preparing for the launch. Right now, this new development is prepared for a more mid-term to long-term growth opportunity for the company,” Tsui said.
