Metrobank raises InstaPay daily transfer cap to P100K
The higher ceiling replaces the previous P50,000 daily cap, allowing account holders to send more funds within a single day for a range of uses such as family support, bill payments and urgent expenses.

MANILA, Philippines — Ty-led Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. (Metrobank) has doubled the daily transfer limit for InstaPay transactions to P100,000 beginning April 22, in a move aimed at giving clients greater flexibility in managing everyday financial needs.

The higher ceiling replaces the previous P50,000 daily cap, allowing account holders to send more funds within a single day for a range of uses such as family support, bill payments and urgent expenses.

Despite the increase, the per-transaction limit remains at P50,000, enabling users to complete multiple transfers throughout the day.

The bank said the adjustment comes as digital payments continue to gain traction among Filipinos, with InstaPay becoming a common tool for routine transactions.

By raising the daily limit, Metrobank noted that clients can complete more payments without having to stagger transfers across several days, particularly for time-sensitive obligations.

Alongside the higher limit, Metrobank highlighted that InstaPay transfers to other banks and e-wallets now carry a fee of P8 per transaction, which it described as its lowest to date. Transfers between Metrobank accounts remain free of charge.

The updated limit is expected to benefit a wide range of users, from individuals sending allowances to families to small business owners settling supplier payments.

The bank added that the change aligns with evolving customer behavior, as more transactions shift to digital channels.

Metrobank, the country’s second-largest private universal bank in terms of assets, said it continues to refine its digital offerings to better match how Filipinos manage their finances, emphasizing convenience and accessibility in everyday banking.
