MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) set the fuel surcharge level to Level 19 from April 16 to 30.

The CAB announced this in an advisory on Wednesday, April 22, announcing that there will be an increase in fuel surcharge coming from the Level 18 during the previous month.

This means for domestic passengers, fuel surcharges can range from P627 to P1,834.

Meanwhile, for international passengers, surcharges can range from P2,070.77 to P15,397.15.

Under the CAB’s directive, airlines that intend to collect a fuel surcharge for the specified two-week window must file their application with the CAB on or before the effective period begins.

The agency emphasized that the rates collected by these carriers must not exceed the maximum allowed under Level 19.

For transactions requiring currency conversion, the Board has established an applicable rate of 59.95 Philippine Pesos to one US Dollar for the duration of this effectivity period.

During a press conference held on Monday, April 20, Energy Secretary Janet Garin said that the Philippines maintained a 60.69-day reserve of jet fuel as of April 17.
