Guide to Construction Law, contracts

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Center for Global Best Practices will host a two-session MCLE-accredited online training titled, Best Practices Guide to Construction Law and Crafting Contracts, on Aug. 17 and 18 via Zoom.

This comprehensive program is designed to navigate participants in perfecting contracts from bidding or negotiation, pre-construction to completion and project turnover. Costly litigation could be avoided when the parties have a well-crafted and comprehensively defined construction contract.

Many construction projects end up in dispute which could be very costly in time, effort, and money for all parties directly involved – property owners, developers, designers, contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, suppliers, financiers, real estate brokers, lawyers, end users, and many other stakeholders. These conflicts could range from defects and delays to variations in plans and the like.

This program will feature CGBP course director and lecturer Allesandra Fay Albarico, a private practitioner, trained arbitrator and associate professor of law. She was former regulatory legal head of Global Business Power, head of the legal department of ISOC Holdings Inc. and all its subsidiaries, corporate information officer and chief compliance officer of a publicly listed company called Ferronoux Holdings Inc. She previously served as legal counsel of Megawide Construction Corp. and corporate legal head of Citicore Power Inc., where she was in-charge of review and drafting of contracts, transaction documents and deeds among many others. She is also the author of the book, Philippine Regulation of the Third Party Funding in International Arbitration.
