DTI-FTEB launches website

MANILA, Philippines — The Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-FTEB) has launched a website aimed at streamlining its frontline services to consumers in the National Capital Region (NCR).

In a statement,  the DTI-FTEB said it has  invested and embarked on developing its user-friendly website that will support its primary mandates of business regulation, including monitoring and enforcement as well as complaints handling.

This is in line with its efforts to streamline its processes for the welfare of its clients.

Under the new website, users can search for approved sales promotions and apply for sales promotion permits through the Integrated Registration Information System (iRegIS).

They can also apply for a certificate of authority to Import,  and accreditation also through the iRegIS.

Consumers can also file complaints through the website.

The DTI-FTEB said consumers can also identify requirements and governing policies of FTEB’s frontline services; get updates on monitoring and enforcement activities; check the prices of basic necessities and prime commodities through the e-Presyo; and report observed unusual business practices.

The website will also feature guidelines and requirements of special concerns like safety seal certification and minimum public health standards compliance.

“The DTI’s quest for digitalization is not only to ease queues and reduce processing time but also to make our process more transparent thereby eliminating fixers and pathways for other illicit transactions,”said Consumer Protection Group (CPG) Undersecretary Ruth Castelo.

Meanwhile, FTEB OIC director Marimel Porciuncula said the bureau  would  continue to strive for system digitalization and full automation for a more speedy, transparent, effective, and efficient end-to-end processing.

The implementation of the website is in line with the Ease of Doing Business and Government Service Act of 2018 – which streamlines frontline procedures to reduce time.
