Pilipinas Shell links up loyalty program with PAL

Richmond Mercurio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL), through Mabuhay Miles, and Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. (PSPC) are joining forces with the introduction of a program aimed at bringing people closer to their dream travel destination.

With travel demand increasing as restrictions ease, PAL and PSPC are partnering to enable members of loyalty program Shell Go+ to convert their points to PAL Mabuhay Miles.

PAL said the partnership comes at a time when Filipinos are raring to travel as a result of a two-year lockdown brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the partnership, users can now start collecting Shell Go+ points and convert them to Mabuhay Miles through the Shell Go+ application.

“With the Philippines and the rest of the world opening its doors for travel, the opportunity to help people reach their desired destinations also opens,” PAL president and COO Stanley Ng said.

“We are optimistic that the resurgence in air travel will continue and with support from partners like Pilipinas Shell, we can help bring more Filipinos to their destinations of choice,” Ng said.

Mabuhay Miles serves as PAL’s frequent flyer program.

Through the program, members can earn miles when they take flights via the flag carrier.

Mabuhay Miles members can also earn miles when they avail of services in partner establishments.

The points earned, or miles, can be used to book PAL flights.

“We hope to see that Filipinos, especially our most loyal customers, find this new offer under Shell Go+ as a useful opportunity to save money and maximize those points to reach more destinations,” PSPC vice president and general manager for mobility Randy Del Valle said.

“This partnership is a testament to our commitment to bring greater mobility and further accessibility by enabling Filipinos to travel beyond roads and even into the sky,” he said.
