MPTC makes new appointments
MANILA, Philippines — Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) has announced key appointments as the group works to ensure that its programs are pursued in a structured manner in a post-pandemic scenario.
MPT South Management Corp., a subsidiary of MPTC, has appointed Raul Ignacio as its president and general manager.
MPT South said Ignacio has extensive years of experience and expertise in the organization with a tenure that started with NLEX Corp.
He has also led the company’s initial venture into the mobility space by heading MPT Mobility since 2020.
Ignacio succeeds Robert Bontia, who has been designated as chief transformation officer to head on a full-time capacity the business transformation office of MPTC.
Bontia, one of the most senior executives of the organization, is poised to ensure the effective implementation of vital groupwide transformation projects.
“The events of the past two years has provided for our company both the need and the opportunity to accelerate the digitalization of our key processes, and to initiate a holistic business transportation,” MPT South said.
MPTC, the country’s largest tollway builder and operator, is expecting traffic volume across its network of expressways to return to pre-pandemic levels this year, barring another virus surge that would lead to stricter mobility restrictions.
Last year, it launched a mobility solutions unit called MPT Mobility intended to play a key role in the sustainability of the business, as it would serve as the primary organization in its pursuit of new revenue streams.
MPTC is hoping that its mobility services business unit will eventually generate significant revenues that would complement the expressways business, enabling the company to become a multi-product, multi-service firm.
