Competent leadership

FILIPINO WORLDVIEW - Roberto R. Romulo - The Philippine Star

Assuming you have read my last column, “Is Duterte 2.0 inevitable?”, the 2022 elections will, for all intents and purposes, be a referendum of this administration’s performance.  Until part two of my column is published on Friday April 9, I ask you to consider and provide me your comments to the following factors:

1. Is there less corruption now because of government’s approach?

2. Do you feel safer from crime now and trust the police and judicial authorities to keep you from harm and respect your rights?

3. Do you feel that economic opportunities are more accessible to all and not just a chosen few? Does your trust indicate improvement of our lives?

4. According to the New York Times, 86 percent of the vaccine doses has been given to higher and upper middle-income countries while 0.1 percent administered to lower income countries. Given this data, has the administration’s vaccination program been satisfactory?  How does our performance compare to our ASEAN neighbors?

5. Do you think that our foreign policy goals of upholding our sovereignty have gained economic and other benefits – even as we belittle our historic alliances? Has our international image been improved?

I welcome your comments and suggestions to [email protected]
