ARANETA CITY, Philippines — The Araneta Group is set to expand the retail and dining offerings of the 35-hectare Araneta City as it is slated to open the P3-billion New Gateway Mall in the last quarter of the year.

On Tuesday, the company held the ceremonial topping off of the 190,000 square meter New Gateway mall.

“We should be ready to turn over the spaces for the tenants to do their own construction probably late July or early August,”Araneta Group senior management consultant Rowell Recinto told reporters.

“But the supermarket, our target is to turn it over to the supermarket end May,”he added referring to the 3,700 sqm supermarket.

The new mall features over 400 shops of both local and international brands and more than 100 restaurants and food choices. It will also feature 18 cinemas and a 3,700-square meter supermarket.

“Dining options will cater to families and friends looking for quick bites, family fare, traditional comfort food, concept restaurants, regional cuisine, and bars and lounges,” the company said.

Meanwhile, the mall will also feature an iconic 500-seat air- conditioned chapel will be opened to the public, as well as a 700 square-meter Atrium for events like product launches, runway shows, performances and many more.

“There will also be the Gateway Gallery for art lovers, an open-air Topiary Park, an air-conditioned Oasis floating park, and gardens where guests can have their own personal time,” the company added.

The Araneta Group said skybridges and footpaths will also be built which will connect The New Gateway to the other areas of Gateway Square and the Araneta City.

“Mall visitors will not find parking a problem, as the parking garages of Gateway Square will have 3,000 parking slots,” it added.

The New Gateway Mall is part of the Gateway Square which currently features the Novotel Hotel, the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the Gateway Tower Building and the Parking Garage South Building. The upcoming IBIS Styles hotel will also be part of the said block.

“All strategically situated within the Gateway Square, these six structures will be interconnected with the other developments in the Araneta City via skybridges and pedestrian malls to offer a complete urban experience — lodging, parking, shopping, dining and entertainment,” the Araneta Group said earlier,

Araneta City, the home of the New Gateway, is conveniently accessible from the metropolis’ main road arteries EDSA, Aurora Boulevard, and P. Tuazon Boulevard in Quezon City and the MRT3 and LRT2.

In addition, Araneta City serves as a hub for other transport systems such as jeepney, UV express, provincial buses, and airport shuttle services.
