MANILA, Philippines — The official distributor of Korean automotive brand Hyundai has opened a new dealership in Baguio City to expand its reach in the country and sell more vehicles.

In a statement, Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) said it launched its first full-service passenger car (PC) dealership in the Cordillera Administrative Region last Jan. 24.

Located along C. M. Recto St. in Baguio, HARI’s new dealership is managed by Grit Motors Corp.

The opening of the Baguio dealership forms part of HARI’s expansion into the country’s high growth corridors.

Known as the summer capital of the Philippines, Baguio City is also the center of tourism, business, commerce, and education in Northern Luzon.

“We start the year and the new decade strong by proudly hoisting the Hyundai flag in Baguio City, fortifying our growing Hyundai dealership network and reiterating that Hyundai continues to reach out to provide Filipinos better automotive products, better after-sales services, and ultimately, better journeys,” HARI president and chief executive officer Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo said.

Featuring Hyundai vehicles such as the Reina, Accent, Kona, Tucson, Grand Starex, and Santa Fe, the new dealership complies with Hyundai Motor Co.’s global dealership space identity standards.

“We want more and more Filipinos to experience the next level of Hyundai mobility,” Agudo said.

HARI has a network of more than 40 PC and 11 commercial vehicle dealerships, featuring Hyundai vehicles and offering after-sales, dealer and customer relations support.

Last year, HARI’s total sales declined 6.1 percent to 33,763 units.
