Maxus rolls out MPV for elderly, PWDs

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Maxus Philippines has rolled out a new variant of its multi-purpose vehicle G10 to cater to the elderly and persons with disabilities.

Maxus Philippines general manager Reginald See told reporters during the launch of the G10 Assist that the company decided to offer the new variant as they saw an opportunity to cater to a segment of the market that is currently not being served.

The nine-seater G10 Assist features a swivel seat which would make it easier to transport the elderly and PWDs. It retails for around P2.079 million.

“This vehicle is not just for individuals but even for institutional clients like hospitals and transportation companies,” See said.

G10 Assist is expected to give a boost to the company’s total vehicle sales.

Maxus Philippines, which launched operations only last June, is aiming to sell 500 to 600 units for the first year of operations.

Apart from the G10, Maxus Philippines also sells the V80 van.

See said so far, there has been good reception for Maxus vehicles in the market.

Since the launch, he said the company has sold about 30 units.

He said the company is sticking with its sales target and looking to expand its dealerships.

To date, there are two dealerships, located in Mandalu-yong and Cebu, as well as a satellite sales office in Quezon City.

See said the company expects to end the year with a total of four dealerships and have two to three more the following year.

Maxus Philippines is part of the Ayala Group’s automotive portfolio.

Apart from Maxus, other brands under Ayala’s automotive portfolio are Honda, Isuzu, Volkswagen, Kia and KTM.
