MANILA, Philippines — With the advent of globalization and free trade agreements where tariff barriers were lowered, if not totally removed, in international trade, the importation of goods can be a new source of business and income. To learn the various facets of importation, the Center for Global Best Practices will host a pioneering program titled, “Best Practices Guide on How to Import Goods to the Philippines” on March 6, 2019 at the Marriott Hotel, Pasay City.

This special training will provide a comprehensive step-by-step guide on the whole importation process in the Philippines – from applying for an import license to ensuring the safety and security of the delivery and arrival of your goods. Update yourselves on the free trade agreements (with lowered to zero tariffs), rate of duty for the top 20 imported products in the Philippines, ways to get a faster customs clearance by unraveling the maze at customs, and many more.

This special program will feature Maria Lydia Ledonio, the author of the book, “The Basic Guidelines on Importing into the Philippines: A Handbook for Commercial Importers.” With over 25 years of experience in the importing business, she has help hundreds of importers to safely bring in various products from all over the world into the Philippine Market – whether it is for trading or for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). Currently, she is the president of Columbia Transport Inc. (Coltrans) and managing partner of Coltrans Exhibits Inc. She obtained her master’s degree on entrepreneurship from the Asian Institute of Management and her bachelor’s degree in Commerce from University of Santo Tomas. She also founded Dee’s Gourmet Popcorn and many other businesses.

Interested participants are encouraged to avail of the early registration savings and group discount for three or more attendees.  Seats are limited and pre-registration is required.
