PAL creates unit for loyalty program

MANILA, Philippines - Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has created a new company for its loyalty program.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, the carrier’s parent firm PAL Holdings Inc. said PAL has formed and registered a new company named Mabuhay Miles Inc.

“The new company is intended to promote the loyalty program of PAL,” PAL Holdings said.

Through Mabuhay Miles which serves as PAL’s frequent flyer program, members can earn miles when they take flights via the national carrier as well as through code-share and airline partners.

PAL’s airline partners are All Nippon Airways and Etihad Airways, while its code-share partners are Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Gulf Air, Turkish Airlines and West Jet.

Mabuhay Miles members can also earn miles when they avail of services in partner establishments.

Apart from foreign airlines, the frequent flyer program’s industry program partners include financial institutions, hotels, telecommunication firms, retailers and other travel-related companies.

For more information on the loyalty program, individuals may visit the Mabuhay Miles Service Center located in PAL’s ticketing office along Ayala Avenue in Makati City or call hotline numbers (632) 855-8888 in Manila.

PAL which has a three-star rating, is aiming to become a five-star airline in five years.

The carrier which has over 70 aircraft, has flights to 30 domestic destinations and over 40 international points.
