Henann Group opens huge beach resort in Bohol

Iris Gonzales - The Philippine Star

PANGLAO, Bohol, Philippines – The Henann Group of Resorts, a Filipino group of resort developers, has formally opened here its latest resort project, the Henann Resort Alona Beach, said to be the largest resort in the province.

Henry Chusuey, chairman of the group, led the formal opening of the resort and convention center Saturday night.

The Bohol resort, the group’s first project outside Boracay, has 400 rooms and sits over a 6.5-hectare property.

“We have almost 400 rooms, three massive swimming pools and a wide range of international cuisine,” Chusuey said.

He said the Henann Resort in Boracay now has 800 rooms and plans are underway for three more resorts in the island.

“We shall not be resting. Our group is building three more resorts in Boracay with an additional 500 rooms,” Chusuey said.

More than the earnings from the projects, Chusuey said the group takes pride in being able to provide employment to the host communities of its projects.

“What is important is our contribution to our country’s drive to progress,” he said.

The Henann Group also collaborated with AirAsia for a new aircraft livery.

The collaboration aims to promote tourism in the country, officials from the two companies said.

As part of the agreement, an AirAsia Airbus 320 features the distinctive logo of the Henann Group. It has been painted in vibrant blue with Henann’s logo prominently displayed on both sides of the aircraft in an effort to promote the luxury hotel resort chain and further boost travel and tourism in the Philippines.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Joy Cañeba said the agreement with Henann is aimed at promoting tourism in the country.

“We are thrilled and honored to carry a homegrown luxury resort brand that does not only proudly promote the Philippines but also values a strong, innovative service culture, which are also the hallmarks of AirAsia’s brand of service. This synergy aims to bring more tourists into the country and offer them to experience the Filipino brand of excellent service,” she said in her welcome remarks during the unveiling ceremony held in NAIA Terminal 4 Friday.
