How to collect debt without using a lawyer

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Whether you are a sole proprietor, a small or medium-sized enterprise, a large-scale company, a financing institution or a financier, collecting money from abusive debtors has now been made easier.  You can present and argue your case in court with no lawyer required.

You can have a speedy trial with your case heard and resolved in one day with the judge’s final, executory, and non-appealable decision.

The Center for Global Best Practices is launching a pioneering seminar titled, “Best practices guide in using the small claims court:  How to collect debt without using a lawyer” on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at the Baguio Country Club, Baguio City, Philippines.

The establishment of the Small Claims Court has made settlement of collection cases become more convenient, less complicated and generally hassle-free.

When you need to collect P100,000 and below that amount against non-paying debtors, all you have to do is to file your cases in the small claims court.  Yes, you can easily do it yourself.  No lawyers needed.  No costly litigation expenses, no delays with speedy resolutions of your collection cases.  Learn all of these and empower yourself in this one-day comprehensive program where you will be taught the rules and procedures on what to file, where to file, how to file your collection cases in this practical, easy to understand and comprehensive program.

What if your total collection is beyond P100,000? The amount limit does not include interests and costs. Thus, an indebtedness of P100,000 that earned an interest of P1,000 when due and incurred P200 as cost of collection – bringing a total of P101,200 – will still be within the jurisdiction of SCCs.

For more details on this and other upcoming learning events including how to prevent, prosecute and collect checks, log on to www.cgbp.org or call program leader, Lara Magnait at (02) 556-8968 / 69; (02) 842-7148 / 59; Cebu lines (032) 512-3106/07; Baguio line (074) 423-5148 or email [email protected]

Those interested to join may avail of the early bird discounts available until Jan. 8, 2014 and group discounts for attendees of three or more.  Pre-registration is required in this limited-seats-only event.  Participants who attended this seminar previously have found this to be very useful and rated the lecture excellent in content and presentation.

This special program will feature Christian G. Villasis.  He is the chairman on the committee of experts in remedial law of the University of the Philippines Law Center for 2012 and 2013.  He is a recipient of the Justice Arsenio Dizon Memorial Award in Remedial Law.
