Special seminar on SEC’s Revised Code of Corporate Governance
MANILA, Philippines - The Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP) is holding a special seminar entitled “SEC’s Revised Code of Corporate Governance†scheduled on Saturday, May 18 at Peninsula Manila, Makati City.
The program is aimed at helping corporations and board directors who have yet to comply with the mandatory provisions of the SEC’s revised Code of Corporate Governance that took effect on July 15, 2009.
We now know that it is compulsory for all corporations to follow the revised code as it now penalizes businesses and makes directors accountable for any violation of its provisions. With a renewed monitoring and stricter regulatory environment imposed by the government, it is best practices that we are all prepared for any compliance check by the authorities. For instance, Board directors or those who wants to be appointed to a board seat of a public or publicly-listed company are required to attend a corporate governance program and are expected to know about the changes in the revised code for them to continue or to hold a position in a corporation.
This one-day special seminar includes updates, SEC circulars and important rulings that all board directors must know to be more effective in the implementation of the Code of Corporate Governance. It is a program that will teach how to implement corporate governance successfully in any organization.
Attend and attain board effectiveness with better governance!
