CamSur hosts 20th Southern Luzon Area Business Conference

MANILA, Philippines - The Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) will host on Aug. 26-27 the 20th Southern Luzon Area Business Conference (SOLABC) at the Camarines Sur Convention Center.

Theme of the two-day conference which is organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is: “One. Global. Filipino. Leveraging Growth and New Opportunities Under a Strong and Dynamic Public-Private Sector Partnership.”

According to Jeremie S. Lo, CSCCI president, the conference will tackle the vital role of the public and private sectors in opening new frontiers in progress and development of the business community towards the realization of sustainable growth of business all over the country.

Camarines Sur Gov. Luis Raymund F. Villafuerte Jr. said that the province is honored to be the site of the event in keeping with its billing as the new economic growth area in the country. “CamSur is not only the country’s top convention center but the main hub of tourist destination and global sports. With focused vision and political will, we are surging ahead to the top of growth and development,” he said.

The province has just hosted the recently concluded “Ironman Sports Event” which gathered over 1,500 participants all over the world. Next November, CamSur will also host the prestigious Ad Congress as well as other sports and cultural events of local and international magnitude.

Villafuerte, as one of the keynote speakers, will talk on “CamSur: Breaking New Horizon on PPP — Six Years after the 14th SOLABC.”

The array of distinguished guests and speakers include PCCI chairman Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr.; Dr. Francis Chua, PCCI president; Sen. Allan Peter Cayetano; Rep. Jack Enrile; Rep. Luis Villafuerte Sr.; Felino Palafox, president, Management Association of the Philippines; Guillermo Luz, chairman, National Competitive Council; Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo; Thomas Roxas, economist USAID Phils.; and Wen-Ju Chen, president, YYD System interior Inc.
