MANILA, Philippines – Trusting on the integrity and capability of philstar.com, the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (PACCI) in New York picks the country’s leading online news provider as its main source of news and information for its members in the United States.

The deal was sealed through a memorandum of agreement signed at Polo Club Manila in Taguig City today between Philstar.com and the US-based business group.

PACCI president Rene “Butch” Meily noted that the undertaking will help its members see the potential of the Philippines business arena, saying “We want to see the real point of view of the policy makers on the country’s business climate.”

“We’re looking forward for a great future with philstar.com. We believe we have a great partnership and we are optimistic that we can extend this cooperation to other synergies,” he added.

He said the undertaking is a great opportunity for Filipino-Americans and other investors in the US to see the promising business capability of the Philippines on a “day-to-day” basis.

“We believe that philstar.com is accurate and trusted vehicle of Philippine news.  We are expecting them to bring us up-to-date stories on anything that is happening in the Philippines, whether news, sports, business, or society gossips,” he noted.

Philstar.com will become the group’s main source of news and information for its more than 20 business institution- members in the US, inviting them to pour investments here especially on infrastructure and tourism undertakings.

The group has been providing economic briefings on visiting dignitaries in the US. Recent events included meetings with President Aquino, senior members of the Philippine Cabinet, and  business executives from both US and Philippine companies, among others.

In its more than 90 years in the industry, PACCI has also hosted business conferences to former Philippine presidents Elpidio Quirino (1947), Carlos P. Garcia (1958), Fidel Ramos (1998), and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (2000).
