Joaquin Cunanan & Co admits new tax director

Joaquin Cunanan & Co./Pricewater-houseCoopers Phils. Has further strengthened its tax services division with the admittance of lawyer Catherine T. Manahan as tax director.

Prior to joining the firm, Manahan held the position of vice president-Office of the chairman of the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC), on detail at the Department of Finance Revenue Operations Group. Her range of experience includes working as general manager, corporate secretary, and legal/tax counsel in various private and multinational companies. She also practiced taxation and law in major law firms and was a professorial lecturer on taxation/credit transaction at the University of the Philippines College of Law. She served the government sector through her stints in the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Department of Labor and Employment.

Manahan earned her Bachelor of Laws degree and certificate course in Economics from the University of the Philippines (UP). She also graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude from UP. She is currently taking up a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Ateneo de Manila University.
