Valenzuela wins 2026 Most Business-Friendly LGU award

MANILA, Philippines — Valenzuela has been named the 2026 Most Business-Friendly local government unit in the highly urbanized cities category in the National Capital Region – a recognition of the city’s efforts to streamline business processes, encourage innovation and create opportunities for local economic growth.
The city government, led by Mayor Wes Gatchalian, received the distinction from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry during the 52nd Philippine Business Conference & Expo held at the Manila Hotel on Wednesday.
The award highlights Valenzuela’s continued partnership with more than 20,000 local businesses that generate jobs, sustain livelihoods and contribute to the city’s economy.
By supporting enterprise growth and fostering a business-friendly environment, the city advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those focused on decent work, economic growth, industry and innovation.
The achievement underscores the importance of collaboration between the local government and the private sector in promoting sustainable economic development and expanding opportunities for city residents.
