Lacson doubts Morales’ credibility

Janvic Mateo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Former senator Panfilo Lacson has expressed doubts on the credibility of former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent Jonathan Morales, who recently testified before the Senate about the alleged investigation report linking President Marcos to illegal drugs.

In an interview with “Storycon” on One News on Thursday, Lacson recalled the allegations made by Morales against him over two decades ago.

At the time, he said Morales “joined the chorus” and echoed claims linking him to illegal drugs, which he said were later proven untrue.

“He has a reputation that he rides on issues. We don’t know who benefits from whatever it is that he is doing,” he said.

“Very unreliable. I have personal experience (with him). It was proven that all of his allegations against me were fabrication,” he added.

Maintaining that he did not brand the ongoing Senate investigation as a waste of time, Lacson said his recent tweets about Morales were in relation to his previous experience with him.

“(It has) nothing to do with Ferdinand Marcos, nothing to do with whoever could be behind him,” he added.
