Nanumpa kagahapon si Garcia ug kaubanang opisyal atubangan ni kanhi presidente ug karon Kongresista Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, ang chairman sa governing board sa APCU.

“I always liked to say that through these centuries, Cebu welcomed the Chinese people on our shores, to our land, in our homes and into our lives. We have embraced China – and our lives, our history, our culture, and our soul have been the richer for it,” matud ni Garcia sa iyang acceptance speech.

Niadtong gobernador pa si Garcia sa Sugbo, ang probinsiya nakiglambigit sa mga probinsiya sa China sama sa Xichuan, Guangdong, Guangxi Zhuang ug Hainan.

Gihulagway ni Arroyo nga high-powered ang delegasyon sa APCU Cebu aron masuportahan si Presidente Rodrigo Duterte sa pagpakighigala niini sa China.

“I believe the present approach that President Duterte is taking is in right direction of boosting cooperation not only in trade but in tourism and investments,” matud ni Arroyo.

Nitambong sa kalihukan kagahapon ang mga opisyal sa Chinese Consulate sa Cebu nga gipangulohan ni Vice Consul General Wa Xiao Min, Consul Cai Wen, Consul Pan Xiang, Consul Li Yelin ug Consul Jiang Wen.

Ubang opisyales sa APCU Cebu mao sila si Ambassador Frank Benedicto isip vice president, Tina Lo isip secretary, Felix Guanzon isip treasurer, ug ang mga sakop sa Board of Advisers ug Directors mao sila si retired Justice Isaias Dicdican, Oscar Chua, Tony Tan, retired Justice Pompio Abarintos, Francisco Unchuan, Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung, Carlos Co ug Margarit Ang.
