Denim revolution

MANILA, Philippines - Denim is a wardrobe staple. Whether it’s a polo or a jacket, everyone’s got something denim in their closet. Denim is versatile, after all, and it’s a piece that is easy to wear and to pair with almost any fashion item.

Denim has come a long way, and with that, SM Youth and SM Men are here to share the latest denim trend. “#DENIMCITIZENS,” a fashion show led by SM Youth ambassadors, aims to celebrate and highlight the role that denim has played in our lives.

SM Youth and SM Men kicked off the second leg of their fashion show tour last July 10 at the SM Mega Fashion Hall. SM Youth ambassadors LA Aguinaldo, Janna Tee, Richard Juan and Tommy Esguerra led the runway followed by “Manila Campus Hotties,” a group of selected students from different universities and colleges. Models sporting androgynous looks strutted down the runway to slow-tempo music mixed by SM Youth ambassador DJ Carlo Atendido. Varied denim items ranging from tops, jeans and dresses to patched and acid-washed jackets were showcased.

You can catch their remaining shows today, July 15, at SM Lanang Premier and on July 23 at The Block, SM City North EDSA. After the show, fans who purchased SM Youth and SM Men denim items will get the chance to meet and greet their favorite ambassadors.
