Who would you pray for and why?

WORDS WORTH - Mons Romulo - The Philippine Star

Prayers have been my best partner in life. Every time I get anxious I turn to prayers and they have given me miracles in my life. Starting my day with prayers has changed my life for the better. Knowing that He will be there to take charge of my life and guide me is the greatest feeling one can have.

If I could pray for someone, it would be for all the children in the world — that they may always feel loved and protected from pain.

Christian Bautista, singer, actor

I will say a prayer for the next president of the Philippines whoever he or she may be — to lead our nation with integrity, wisdom, might, innovation, heart, understanding and with everything they’ve got. We will be behind you, we will support you, we know you will make some mistakes but try to make only a few, we will try to be patient. But we as a nation are excited for the next season of prosperity, unity and greatness. And one more thing: please do not fail us.

Senator Sonny Angara

I’d pray for all our countrymen and their families, especially those frequently hit by disasters and living in danger zones. I’d pray for Pope Francis because he always asks us to pray for him. I’d pray for greater tolerance and compassion the world over. Of course, I’d pray for our families, including mine.

Tina Maristela-Ocampo, former model, bag designer

If I were to say a prayer it would be for those I have hurt and those who have hurt me. Finding peace is what I aim for in this second chance of life.

Joanna Preysler-Francisco, co-owner, Carbon, Tint, Joanna Preysler, Eterno and Hide & Stitch boutiques

It would be for our country. Every time I gripe and criticize, I catch myself and pray for our government, our countrymen, our businesses, and for God to bless and protect the Philippines.

Trisha Panlilio, owner nawwTy’s kitchen, founder of The Gourmand Market

My prayers are always for my boys — for good health and safety. As a mama, they are my utmost priority and I am always on the lookout for  their absolute well-being. Worry is a constant and prayer is comforting.

Jaya, singer, actress

My prayer is for God to touch the hearts of my family members and friends to accept Jesus Christ to be their personal Lord and savior; then with that I pray that it allows obedience, discipline, love and respect for everything and everyone.

Monique Borja-Gonzalez, yoga teacher, mom

It is really so bothersome, all the news that’s been going around so casually online about 40-year-olds marrying eight-year-old girls, cannibals discovered, parents murdering their adopted child. We really have to collectively pray for a better race and a better place.

Carlo Orosa, talent manager for Stages Production

I would pray for our people, that we may clearly discern the will of God in choosing whom to vote for in the coming elections. And that God’s word alone will be our only influence, no one and nothing else.

Nanette Inventor, singer, comedian

My prayer: Lord God, let me pray like a child, asking little for much, for other souls and for your beautiful world. I pray that You spread peace over our country’s situations and our relationships each day. In Jesus’ most precious name, amen.
