Lovi Poe, Erich Gonzales & Carla Abellana love stories of love
The leading ladies of Shake Rattle Roll XV are in love with love stories. While waiting for the celebrity advance screening to begin, I asked Lovi Poe star of episode “Flight 666”; Erich Gonzales, star of episode “Ahas” (Snake); and Carla Abellana, star of episode “Ulam” to share at least two of their favorite books.
LOVI POE LOVES TWO BOOKS BY JUDITH MACNAUGHT
1. Paradise — The guy is a ruthless corporate raider, the girl is cool and sophisticated. Their ill-fated and brief marriage is contrasted by their still strong attraction to each other. I just loved every word.
2. Perfect — An unlikely couple falls into a surprise coupling and I love her storytelling.
ERICH GONZALES
1. The Fault in Our Stars — I just loved how the characters are so full of life despite having terminal diseases. It made me laugh and cry.
2. The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks — Two unlikely couples separated by years and life stories. The way their lives converge is riveting.
CARLA ABELLANA
1. Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert — My Mom passed this book on to me and I just loved it.
2. Lullabies by Lang Leav— I like poetry and the author’s ability to translate complex emotions with astonishing simplicity just somehow gets me.
