FIGBA derby final under way at Roligon
MANILA, Philippines — The FIGBA National Bakbakan 12-stag derby final resumes today with 78 fights on tap at the Roligon Mega Cockpit in Baclaran.
Leading the cast in the five-stag battle are 31 participants with 6.5 points. Gov. Jayjay Suarez of Quezon, the 2010 Bakbakan champ, banners the cast of finalists from Bicol, Batangas, Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, Tarlac, Baguio, Ilocos, Pampanga, Davao, Iloilo and Palawan.
Tuesday’s opening round, which drew a jampacked crowd, featured 130 matches.
The other finalists are Paolo Malvar, winner of the 2017 World Pit Masters Cup 1, Jun Yap, Mayor Jon Feliciano, Cesar Tan, Alexander Tagapulot, Buddy Robrigado, Andres Alivia III, Boy Sauco, Raymund dela Cruz, Alex Ty, Jeff Dumalaog and Vice Mayor Alfonso Singson.
The grand finals of the 7,106-entry Bakbakan, organized by the International Federation of Gamefowl Breeders Associations (FIGBA) will be held Saturday.
Backers of the event are Thunderbird The Winning Formula, B-MEG Integra Power Maxx, Excellence Poultry and Livestock Specialists, LDI, Hagibis, Salto, Vitarich Titan, Vio-Plus, Pit Fighter and Mad Science.
