MANILA, Philippines - Reigning titlist Pocari Sweat and Creamline seek to firm up their semifinal bid as they clash in a key duel in the quarterfinals of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan today.
The Lady Warriors and the Cool Smashers gained the head-start in the single-round quarters among four teams, edging Air Force and Perlas, respectively, in grueling five-setters last Saturday with both teams going for the all-important win in their 4 p.m. showdown.
Leaning on the explosive return of Myla Pablo, who missed two games due to back sprain, as well as American Michelle Strizak, the Lady Warriors exacted revenge over elims tormentor the Air Force Lady Jet Spikers, 21-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-14, 15-10, to get back on track.
The Lady Warriors, however, said that their prized hitter will be assessed on a day-to-day basis if she could suit up in their matches.
