AFP, PNP seal UNTV title clash

MANILA, Philippines - AFP repeated over Judiciary, 85-76, while PNP routed MMDA, 80-67, to seal a showdown for the UNTV Season 2 basketball crown at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City last Sunday.

Rolando Pascual scored 24 points and had 12 rebounds to power the Cavaliers past the Magis in a highly-physical contest that saw the ejection of top Judiciary scorer Don Camaso.

Olan Omiping, meanwhile, sizzled with 31 points to lead the Responders to another shot at the title.

Omiping and Harold Sta. Cruz combined in the first half to give the Responders a 47-30 bulge.

MMDA threatened at 52-61 at the end of the third but Omiping fired 16 points in the last 10 minutes as PNP got back at MMDA.

AFP and PNP dispute the crown starting Sunday.
