MANILA, Philippines - Top-notch hotelier Hilton Worldwide returns to the Philippines after a 10-year hiatus, this time as it opens its Conrad luxury brand at the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City.

Hilton will manage Conrad Manila, owned by the Sy family’s SM Hotels and Conventions Corp.

“The stunning Conrad Manila is an exceptional addition to the Conrad Hotels & Resorts portfolio and we are delighted to be in partnering with SM Hotels on this exciting project, who share our passion for excellence. Its opening underscores the growth of our portfolio across Asia Pacific and our continued commitment to the dynamic market of the Philippines. This landmark property perfectly complements the vibrancy of this amazing capital city and will set the benchmark for luxury accommodation in Manila,” said Martin Rinck, president of Hilton Worldwide Asia Pacific.

SM Hotels president Elizabeth Sy, for her part, believes the opening of Conrad Manila is timely, as “the Philippines is ready for a luxury brand.”

“We look forward to a fruitful partnership with Hilton Worldwide in further elevating the hotel industry in the country,” Sy said.

The hotel offers 347 Filipino-inspired guest rooms, equipped with motion sensors and Wi-Fi, expresso machines and hydrotherapy rain showers. It also has a luxurious Presidential Suite that features a spacious outdoor terrace, a private pool and the view of the famed Manila Bay.

There are also six restaurants and lounges including a coffee bar, pool bar and in-room dining: the Brasserie on 3; China Blue and C Lounge.

Furthermore, the hotel has a 24-hour Fitness Center, an outdoor infinity pool, a spa and an executive lounge for guests staying in an Executive Room.

It also has meeting venues including breakout rooms as well as a direct access to the SMX Convention Center through a walkway bridge.

An added attraction is the hotel’s art collection, which features 635 works of contemporary Filipino artists.

Harald Feurstein, general manager of Conrad Manila, said “We are proud to add another important layer to our rich environment in Manila Bay with the Conrad Manila art collection that celebrates the creative spirit of contemporary Filipino artists. We hope that each creative piece provides our guests the unique and inspired experience to enjoy art in a luxury setting. At Conrad Manila, we are genuinely committed to promote art beyond its decorative function.”

Feurstein said he shares the excitement of the whole Hilton team in opening Conrad Manila.

“It is an honor and privilege for us to re-introduce Hilton Worldwide through the first Conrad hotel in the Philippines, especially in these exciting times as the country is in the brink of rapid economic growth across all sectors,” said Feurstein.

“I am certain that the hotel will be significant addition to Manila’s dynamic cityscape,” he added.
