Injured Lutz on the mend, joins Bolts
MANILA, Philippines - Fil-Am forward Chris Lutz, who recently underwent an arthroscopic ligament repair in the United States, is back in the country and has moved over to Meralco from San Miguel Beer.
But having just undergone an ankle surgery, Lutz will still go through at least a four-month recovery period before finally joining the Bolts probably in the second conference of PBA Season 42.
The Bolts, good as out in the current PBA Philippine Cup with a 2-7 slate, were able to sign up Lutz as San Miguel recently dropped the former Gilas player to the unrestricted free agent pool with his lingering hips injury.
“His hips and back problem turned out to be coming from an ankle injury. It’s similar to the problem of Steph Curry before, and it was found out by the doctor of the Boston Red Sox,” said Marvin Espiritu, the agent of the Fil-Am player.
“Since high school, Lutz has had ankle injuries. He’s always twisting it, and the ligament had loosened, needing to be repaired for him to be able to play again,” Espiritu also said.
