Bavaria in Japan

Manny N. de los Reyes - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — BMW made a big splash in Tokyo this year as it held Asian debuts for two significant, new models: the future flagship BMW Concept 8 Series and the much-anticipated BMW Concept Z4 roadster—the latter receiving special attention from the Japanese as it is said to be sharing its platform with Toyota’s upcoming high-end Supra J29 sports car.

But it’s not just concept cars that the wizards from Munich waved their magic wands at. They also conjured production versions of the all-new BMW X3 and the spectacular M5. Yet another Nippon premiere for the Bavarian brand was the all-new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo.
