Guarding our seas

The Philippine Star

The quick action taken by our military to drop off food, water and other supplies to Ayungin Shoal for our soldiers will be surely appreciated by the soldier’s families and fellow soldiers. Not a day passed and the soldiers manning the sea need not worry getting hungry and thirsty. That’s how the AFP show it takes care of its  men, and how it recognizes their sacrifices being so far away from loved ones and guarding our seas for a long period of time, yet they have no complaints and continue to do their work with enthusiasm and dedication, despite challenges and difficulties.

The Marines at the Shoal did not worry for they know their superiors will take care of their needs. We hope the dropping off of food supplies will not be prevented anymore by the Chinese government, for that would create complications and will further strain China-Phl relations.

China claims Phl is putting up structures in the shoal which has no basis for it is not true. The Marines are there for our Phl coastal protection and nothing else. The Chinese are concocting stories to cover up its unlawful actions towards our country.     â€“ Leif S. Ubaldo, Bani, Pangasinan
