Heroes of the nation

The Philippine Star

It is with sadness that we learn of the deaths of six soldiers in an encounter against terrorists in Lanao. These events bring sorrow to many families as they lose fathers, brothers or husbands. How much longer will we lose lives in the pursuit of peace?

As a Mindanaoan, I have experienced turmoil and violence. But as I’ve grown older, I’ve come to recognize the heroism of the soldiers and their desire to defend the nation. With each aim of their rifles, they not only defend territory but also the dreams of youth aspiring for a peaceful future. They exemplify determination and sacrifice for the future of every Filipino.

Currently, our government and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) continue their pursuit of terrorists. I believe in their efforts and plans for the safety of our country.

May our brothers in the hands of terrorists awaken and realize the folly of their fight. May they choose peace and order for our nation, so that together we may rise as Filipinos.

Let us remember the importance of education and the opportunities for progress. It is crucial to support government programs aimed at providing a better future for youth and communities in conflict-affected areas. By providing adequate support and opportunities for education, we can help youth break free from the cycle of poverty and violence. Education is a vital weapon against corruption and turmoil, and it is the key to strengthening our country’s future.

May the heroic soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our nation serve as inspiration for us all to strive and collaborate in building a more prosperous, just and peaceful society for all Filipinos.  –  LUNA [email protected]
