VIRAL: Bakeshop to fulfill promise of free cakes after Duterte's win
MANILA, Philippines - When it comes to free food, #WeNeverForget.
Before the elections, the owner of a bakeshop in Kamuning has promised to give away P5 million worth of baked goodies if Rodrigo Duterte wins the presidential race.
"Pag manalo si Duterte manok nyo guys, gagawa ako ng maraming cakes pinakamasarap sa cakes sa Pilipinas worth 5 Milyon para ipakain for free siguraduhin nyo lang manalo siya. Mark my word...," Eliaquim Labang said on a Facebook post last November.
Staying true to his words, Labang announced on Monday he will fulfill his promise to the nation of cake lovers in one condition: "[S]o long as Duterte halts criminality in three to six months, as he promised."
In addition, the bakeshop will also give cakes in batches starting July 1, provided that you "like" their Facebook page and reserve a slot for registration beforehand.
The posts have gone viral and while most netizens are eager to get a bite of that promised cake, some doubt if the business can provide enough cakes for the whole nation. — Alixandra Caole Vila
